Setting goals is essential in living an inspired life.

Like Yogi Berra says, “If you don’t know where you are going, you’ll end up someplace else.” True that! Setting goals, gaining clarity on what you desire is essential to living a life you love!

Follow these steps to get started setting your goals:

1. Connect with your desires for life, the feelings you’d like to create behind your accomplishments. Love, freedom, connection- you might be setting a financial goal that creates freedom and peace for your family. So let’s start with the feelings you’d like to create for your life.
2. Second, what are you up to in life….this is where your dreams come in if you know you want to create freedom and your dream is to build a successful business that impacts millions of people and generates a generous revenue. Get clear on what this looks like. What areas are you working towards in your life? Your goals can be for your personal life and business/career. I like to have a mix of both each time I’m setting goals.

3. Notice if you feel they are possible? Are you questioning yourself or doubting what you’d like to accomplish with your dreams?
   • There might be some work that needs to be done here
4. Write Them down
   • Make them smarter-
     • Specific
     • Measurable
     • Actionable
     • Realistic
     • Time Bound
     • Exciting – (adapted from Michael Hyatt)
     • Relevant- as appropriate for your life right now

5. Find your why around these goals you’ve claimed….do they relate to your core feelings of what you’d like to create in your life?
6. Share with your family/peers/friends- selectively
7. Review on a regular basis.
